We live in a world defined by disruption: environmental, political, technological, and deeply personal. How do we make sense of it all, and how do we live well within it?

Join us to celebrate the launch of Entanglements: Weaving Our Futures, the bold new book by Dr Simon Western. A globally recognised thought leader in leadership, coaching, and organisational change, Simon is Founder and CEO of the Eco-Leadership Institute, host of the Edgy Ideas podcast, writer of the Re-enchanting Our Worlds Substack, and author of several influential books including Leadership: A Critical Text.

Drawing on his unique journey from factory floor to nursing, family therapy, academia, and organisational leadership, Western weaves together personal narrative and social analysis across a score of essays responding to the defining events of our times: Covid-19, the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, Trump, Brexit, the climate crisis, the rise of woke culture, and more. At the heart of the book is a provocative idea: that we have entered a new Precarious-Interdependent Age, demanding a radical shift in how we relate to ourselves, each other, and our world.

In conversation with Associate Professor Brigid Nossall, Simon will explore the themes of soul, power, loss, desire, and re-enchantment that run through the book, and what it might mean to look beneath the surface of our troubled times with curiosity, courage, and care.

This is not a book of easy answers. It is an invitation to think more freely and relate more fully.
