A globally recognised thought leader in leadership, coaching, and organisational change, Simon is Founder and CEO of the Eco-Leadership Institute, host of the Edgy Ideas podcast, writer of the Re-enchanting Our Worlds Substack, and author of several influential books including Leadership: A Critical Text.

Drawing on his unique journey from factory floor to nursing, family therapy, academia, and organisational leadership, Western weaves together personal narrative and social analysis across a score of essays responding to the defining events of our times: Covid-19, the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, Trump, Brexit, the climate crisis, the rise of woke culture, and more. At the heart of the book is a provocative idea: that we have entered a new Precarious-Interdependent Age, demanding a radical shift in how we relate to ourselves, each other, and our world.
