Event Information

Join us for an evening with Jenny Smith, RMIT Masters of Applied Science (Organisation Dynamics) alum and senior leader in the energy sector, as she shares insights from her recently completed PhD at University of Melbourne. Her thesis offers a critical analysis of DEI in Australian corporate organisations. Drawing on ethical philosophy, systems psychodynamics and real-world organisational experience, Jenny offers a critical examination of how DEI is currently understood and practised in corporate settings. She surfaces some of the deeper tensions and unintended consequences that can arise when inclusion is driven primarily by business-case logic, and points toward a more human-centred, morally grounded and systemically aware approach to DEI leadership.

The session will include time for small group reflection, inviting participants to explore the questions and tensions this work raises for their own organisations and practice.
